Ranjot Singh Bhandal
Executive Director

Ranjot is a third-year student majoring in Biomedical Physiology at Simon Fraser University. Outside of classes, Ranjot engages in various volunteer roles, music production, and photography of Vancouver's urban and natural landscapes. Driven by a passion to inform and inspire, Ranjot serves as the Professional Development Chair and Academic Coordinator of the Phi Delta Epsilon Canada Beta Chapter, where he organizes workshops and information sessions for pre-medical students. He also served as the Logistics Director for the MedCONNECT 2020 virtual conference. This year, Ranjot brings his skills and experience to the MedEc team to produce an informative and enjoyable webinar series.

Elyssa Bingham
Senior Advisor

Elyssa is in her final semester pursuing a joint major in Business and Psychology at Simon Fraser University. In Phi Delta Epsilon Canada Beta Chapter, she is committed to her role as President, as seen by her tireless efforts to organize fundraisers, chapter meetings, and develop a welcoming environment for future health professionals. Her work as a behavioural interventionist working with kids diagnosed with ASD, as well as her position as a Money Advisor for G&F Financial has led her to find her passion for helping people. In her role as Senior Advisor for MedEc, she hopes to educate others on non-traditional pathways to medicine, including majors outside pre-med such as her own. She encourages everyone to follow their own unique career path rather than conform to expected social norms.

Taranjot Kaur
Communications & Plenary Director

​Taranjot is a 5th year student completing her Honours in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry (MBB). Outside of classes Taranjot also serves as the President of the MBB Student Union at SFU and a volunteer recruiter for the Learning Buddies Network in Greater Vancouver. Through these roles and many others that she has served in the past, Taranjot endeavors to develop equity of opportunity in learning and service communities. Taranjot has previously lead MedConnect planning for two consecutive years and is excited to be a part of the planning for the adapted MedEc format this year.

Zoë Law
Marketing Director

Zoë is in her third year of studying Behavioural Neuroscience and Biology at Simon Fraser University. As the current Secretary and Risk Management Office for Phi Delta Epsilon Canada Beta and previous Promotions Advisor at MedCONNECT, Zoë lends her expertise in graphic design and digital marketing to the MedEc team. In addition to her work within PhiDE, Zoë co-founded VentureXPerience, which hosted their first design-based 24-hour competition, and continues her work as a medical office assistant with WELL Health and as a Northern Shaolin Kung Fu instructor. Joining the MedEc team, Zoë hopes to combine her passion for design and medicine to create an interactive and safe learning space while highlighting the vast areas of interest on one’s pathway to medicine.

Gurpreet Moroak
Logistics Director

Gurpreet is pursuing his bachelor's in Molecular biology and biochemistry. He has been a part of Phide since spring 2021, and according to him, his favorite thing about Phide is the awesome people that he gets to work with. Moreover, In his free time, he likes to cook, lift weights, and watch Netflix.

Italia Paris
Programming Director

Italia Paris is a third year SFU student majoring in Kinesiology. She joined Phi Delta Epsilon Canada Beta Chapter during her first year at SFU. Currently, Italia serves as the Vice President of Programming for PhiDE. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine, specializing in ophthalmology. Outside of school, she is a soccer and ultimate frisbee player. She is driven by her passion for athletics along with helping others. This passion has motivated her to work as a team trainer with SFU Women’s Basketball, as well as a coach for her former high school ultimate frisbee team.

Emma Uphill
Internal Director

Emma is a fourth year SFU student majoring in Behavioural Neuroscience with a minor in English. She joined Phi Delta Epsilon in 2018 in her first year of university as she wanted to find a community of like-minded individuals who shared her own goal of pursuing a career in medicine. Emma joined the MedEc team because she understands the value of continuing to offer students the ability to access med school resources throughout the pandemic over Zoom. Her hope is that MedEc will be a valuable and insightful experience for all attendees and she feels so grateful to be behind the scenes helping to create that experience.
